His voice is well known by the students but his story is not, from growing up as the son of a Superintendent to actually becoming a Superintendent, Mr. Geordan shared his life story with students in Canfield. Mr. Geordan spoke about his Greek heritage, his own school experience as a LaBrae, Kent State and Youngstown State student, his career path, and his beloved family. Mr. Geordan connected with the students on a new level, telling them “Understand... I’m just like you. Even though we don’t have the same last name, but I care about you as if you are my own children.” Sabrina Eaton, teacher says, “The students left with a feeling of being heard, valued and appreciated. Students are definitely at the center of every decision and are treated and respected as if they were Mr. Geordan’s own kids.”
Everyone’s stories matters is a reoccurring theme in Mrs. Sabrina Eaton’s class. Eaton was inspired by the Humans of New York bestselling book which chronicles everyday people and the stories behind them. The class will hear stories all year from everyday people in our community.
