OCTOBER 2023

With the second quarter underway, our students and staff continue demonstrating what it means to be “Positively Canfield.” So far, this school year has proved that our momentum as a district remains strong. I couldn’t be more proud of the extraordinary achievements of our students and staff.

This fall, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Canfield High School #47 among high schools in the state, placing it proudly within Ohio’s top 5%. Additionally, Canfield High School holds the top spot as the #1 high school in Mahoning County!

Canfield Local Schools also achieved exceptional results on the Ohio School Report Card. We earned a five-star overall rating, meaning our district significantly exceeds state standards. The report card results also noted impressive ratings in key areas: five stars for Achievement, Gap Closing, and Graduation, and four stars for Progress and Early Literacy. These ratings showcase the commitment of our staff and students to academic excellence and achievement.

As we look ahead to the next quarter, I want to encourage our students, staff, and community members to keep building on the solid foundation of our past successes. Let’s continue to create an environment where every student can thrive, every teacher can inspire, and every parent can partner in their child’s educational journey.

Thank you so much for your dedication to education and for making Canfield Local Schools an amazing place for everyone.

Here’s to an incredible second quarter, Cardinals!
