Our District
Canfield Schools offer all-day kindergarten, elementary art and music, STEM education, virtual labs, gifted education, reading and math intervention, guidance and inclusion services, fourteen AP courses, College in High School, a highly competitive interscholastic sports program with twenty-four varsity sports, highly-acclaimed Drama, Band and Choir programs along with a nationally ranked Speech & Debate team.
98.6% of students graduate in four years.
100% of our students met the Third Grade Reading Guarantee requirements for promotion to 4th grade in the 2023-24 school year.
The Canfield Local School District received the highest rating and received no findings of noncompliance by The Ohio Department of Education in the Special Education Annual Rating and the Special Education Profile.

Community Overview
Canfield is a suburban city located in Mahoning County, Ohio,[United States, at the intersection of U.S. Route 224 and State Route 46/U.S. Route 62, about ten miles southwest of Youngstown. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 7,374. It is part of the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2005 Canfield was rated the 82nd best place to live in the United States by Money magazine (Source: Mapquest).
The Canfield Local School District is the heartbeat of the community boasting a legacy of academic success and rich tradition. The Canfield Local Schools provides daily education to the families of both the City of Canfield and the majority of Canfield Township. The district is served by the Canfield Joint Fire District, the City of Canfield Police Department and the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department.
The Canfield Community truly has something for everyone. The historic green at the center of Canfield is hub of seasonal activity featuring parades, concerts, and family friendly events. Restaurants and small businesses can be found throughout the community along with several major golf courses, the Tippecanoe Country Club, the Canfield Tennis and Swim Club, and of course the famous Canfield Fair Grounds.
