The Canfield Local School District is committed to educating the whole child. The week of September 27, 2021, is “Start With Hello” Week in the district. The district-wide movement empowers students to create an inclusive and connected community by reaching out to those who may be new or feel isolated and encourages students to embrace the awkwardness of starting a conversation.
Each day will have a specific focus including a “See Something, Say Something” Day. Joe Knoll Superintendent says, “The goal of this day is to create awareness within our student body and to encourage all students that if they see something they should say something to a trusted adult.”
The national Start With Hello program brings attention to the growing epidemic of loneliness and social isolation, which can often lead to bullying, violence, and depression.
