Signing Ceremony for Student Athletes

Canfield High School held a Signing Ceremony in honor of student athletes earlier this month. The following athletes were honored:

Joey D'Apolito, Lacrosse: He will be attending Hiram College on a lacrosse scholarship. He is the current team captain and will be a 4-year letter winner. He is currently the third all-time in career scoring for the Cardinals.

Shiane Donnaurmmo, Lacrosse: She will be attending Ursuline College on a lacrosse scholarship where she hopes to study psychology with a focus on art therapy/counseling. She is a member of the National Honors Society and has a 3.87 GPA. She will be a 3-year letter winner and plays year-round lacrosse for Major Force Lacrosse.

Mara Guerrieri, Lacrosse: She will be attending Seton Hill University on a lacrosse scholarship where she will study forensic science. She has a 4.1 GPA and will be a 4-year letter winner and a 2 year captain. She made 1st Team All Region 2019, Vindicator Player of the Year 1019, Most Valuable Player 2019, and plays year-round lacrosse for Major Force Lacrosse.

Richie Hofus, Football: He will be attending Fordham on a full athletic scholarship where he will study business. He is a 3- year letter winner, 1st Team All League AAC, 1stTeam All County, 1st Team All District, Honorable Mention All-State, WKBN 5 Blocks of Granite Winner, Canfield’s defensive MVP and team captain 2019.

Isabella Kelty, Lacrosse: She will be attending Walsh University on a lacrosse scholarship where she hopes to study nursing. She will be a 4-year letter winner and an assistant captain.  She made 2nd Team All Region 2018, Honorable Mention All Region 2017 & 2019, Vindicator Player of the Year 2017 & 2018, Offensive Player of the Year 2017, 2018, & 2019 and plays year-round lacrosse for Major Force Lacrosse.

Athena Poullas, Lacrosse: She will be attending John Carol University where she hopes to be a premed major and study exercise study or biology. She is in the National Honors Society and has a 4.1 GPA. She will be a 4-year letter winner and an assistant captain.  She made Honorable Mention All Region 2019, Defensive Player of the Year 2018, and plays year-round lacrosse for Major Force Lacrosse.

Tara Santoro, Lacrosse: She will be attending Mount Union University where she hopes to study physical therapy/chiropractic.  She has a 3.74 GPA and will be a 4-year letter winner and a captain. She was named the Most Valuable Player 2018.
