Matt Campbell is a 93 Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School graduate. He continued his education at John Carroll University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and began a career in education. He also has a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University and is currently a principal at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.
Prior to becoming a Board member, Campbell was a varsity football coach in Canfield, a high school football and softball coach in Poland, a volunteer at McCune Park. Currently, he coaches youth and travel baseball, softball, basketball and flag football teams. He is a member of the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators and the Association for Career and Technical Education.
Campbell has 22 years of educational experience as a teacher, principal, and coach. He believes his experience will help guide his decisions as a Board member. His goal as a Board member is to be a servant leader for our students, teachers, parents, administrators and the entire school community. Additionally, he wants to ensure that all decisions are based on the best interest of students without personal agendas.
Mr. Campbell believes that being a Cardinal is to be passionate. He said he always knew he wanted to move to Canfield because of the reputation for placing a high priority on education and the development of well-rounded graduates. He and his wife Lisa are the parents of three children: Emma, 15, Matthew, 11, and Addison, 5, who are in the Canfield school system.
